Introduction

My love of reading permeates every aspect of my life. A book can easily fit in a backpack or purse to be pulled out when I have a few minutes of free time. Sometimes I am reading more than one book at a time. Many nights I stay up too late reading a novel, anxiously wanting to see what happens. One of the greatest things about reading is the ability to imagine far off places or live vicariously through different characters.

I always enjoy connecting a book I have read to a place I have visited, or want to visit. This could mean a historical site, an author’s birthplace, or the streets a fictional character walked. For example, a fan of Ernest Hemingway can visit his birthplace in Oak Park, IL. A fan of The Wizard of Oz can visit the Oz Museum in Wamego, KS.

My goal with this blog is to write in such a way that you want to read the book or travel to the place. When I run out of places I’ve been, I will write about places I want to visit. As a movie buff as well, I might throw in a couple posts about where films have been made or take place.
